Poem: Cheap

Cheaper to buy the not quite food;
The soil, bees, and knowledge
Tossed aside like used plastic.

Cheaper to make in a plant,
Instead of on farmland;
Chemically created versus home grown.

Cheaper to treat humans like crap,
Than give them dignity,
And let them stand up for their health.

Cheaper to change the laws,
And block the laws,
And leave us with nothing for the future.

Cheaper for the big wigs and corporate heads.
Cheap food, cheap labor, and cheap life
Is not cheap for us in the end.
