Poem: The Sweetest Rose

(Aha! I found it. Several months ago I posted The Desert Turtle and The Stream of Love. The Sweetest Rose was the third of that group. Three colored in drawings with three special poems made for my two nieces and nephew. I knew it’s find it. Ha!)

The Sweetest Rose

A symbol of beauty, of love, and desire:
A rose is much like the truest flower.

Who cannot perceive what this
Little thorny flower means?

The thorns show pain of life for love,
When clipping down or running from.

The red rose can right the wrongs
Of lover’s quarrels and misplaced trust.

Although the rose can be so sweet,
Like life, it lies through its teeth.
