Poem: Can I Have One?

(Poem five of the day. I should go get some cookies.)

Can I Have One?

Can I have one?
The fresh one right out of the oven?
the boxed one sitting on the shelf?
Please, please, pretty please, Mom?

Can I have one?
The ones meant for the bake sale
or the ones you’re looking to bring Grandma
or even the ones you hide in your closet.
Please, please, pretty please, Mom?

Can I please have one?
Any of them?
Just one, Mom.
I need a cookie please.

“Alright, just one.”
Yay! Thank you Mom!
I love you forever Mom!

Mom, can I have another?
Pretty please, Mom?
