Poem: The Visit

(My grandmother just passed away. I’m going to post a few poems dedicated to her and her passing. I posted this already, but…)

The Visit

The glassy eyes still full of love
The visitors with blue and green
Our tags allow us inside
Hold in the tears before the bed

The shakes and wrinkles instead
Her strong and firm exterior gone
My heart crashes in my chest
She seeks to revive soon

The end closer than I wish
Her long road no longer looks endless
I am guaranteed to miss
The special warmth of her hug and kiss

  1. I’m so sorry to hear about your grandmother *hugs* and so glad you can turn your pain into beauty, channeling destruction into creation. Condolences.
