Cat Hartliebe’s Favorite Music 2020

Favorite Music

I am like so many other people. I love music. It’s a major stim for me. When there is music about, I sing along and dance. Actually, if I’m not singing and dancing, I’m either masking or sick. All music is top level desire for me. Life can’t exist without music.

Since music is such a love, I will show off my favorite talented singers and bands.

Local Band:
The Ones You Forgot.

The Ones You Forgot: Something For Me (Official Lyric Video)

I hope you aren’t in the mind to forget about them. When I watch their music videos, I’m reminded of the world I grow up in. They’re local to the Jersey Shore. That doesn’t mean their music is local. They just dropped this new single. Check them out. You won’t regret it. Website Twitter Twitch TV Facebook Instagram Youtube

Favorite Band/Group:

Blackpink: How You Like That

You forgot I liked them, didn’t you? I wouldn’t call myself a Blink, but I’m close enough to not mind the designation. They are everything you want in a pop girl group. Power, presence, and beauty. They have skills in so many ways. If only they put out music faster. Unlike with The Ones You Forgot, Blackpink sings other people’s music. They don’t “do it all”. That’s okay.

Favorite Singer: I have double. I can’t pick.

Ann: On The Way Back Home

I even made a Youtube playlist full of her songs. I love her. Her voice is soothing. She has a way with words. She’s Taiwanese. I’m not the only one caught by her beautiful voice. She may not dance. She may not look like a model. That’s not needed. She writes these impressive songs and belts them out to audiences without fear. I love her.

G-Dragon: Untitled, 2014

You were expecting someone else? I’ve always had music drifting about my head. It never felt like mine. He offers that music out loud. It’s why it’s so easy for me to drown in it. He writes songs I needed a decade ago. I wish I could offer more to him. The strain the media forces him to deal with is cruel. He may have an easier life now than when he started, but that’s only if you think he’ll never go hungry or without notice. Life is a lot more than that.
And I made him a Youtube playlist, too.

I sing and dance to everyone. I don’t mind. A good beat is the best. Soothe comforting voices are drawing. There’s nothing I’d rather do than just listen to different types of music all day long.

What can’t I listen to?

When I know- can hear and understand- the lyrics are sexist, racist, religious, etc… I don’t want it. I turn away from it. I can’t. There’s no way I support hate. Those songs promote hate. I will never be happy with them.

What’s your favorite music?
Who do you listen to when you’re down?
Do you have multiple favorites?
Tell me your favorite indie or local band. I need them. Let me boost them.

  1. Great band/singer choices!

You’ve opened my eyes to ‘The Ones You Forgot’, I won’t forget them now ^_^

Also impressed with your taste in a genre we call ‘PopAsia’ in Australia, we have TV shows and radio stations dedicated to that music.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Song Dong Ye ‘An He Qiao’

(hopefully the link works? I had to type it in manually No cut and paste??)

I also love the following musicians/bands THE MOST:
    Ben Folds (Ben Folds Five)
Sigur Ros (try this track: “Staralfir”)
Jose Gonzales (try this track: “Heartbeats”)
    Sufjan Stevens
Christina Perri (try this track: “The Words”)
MEUTE (a terrific German street band!)
Ben Rektor (try this track: “Old Friends”)
Daoi Freyr (try this track: “Think About Things”)
Kygo (try this track: Ft Justin Jesso “Stargazing”)
Brad (try this track: “The Day Brings”)

I love music that has atmosphere, can take me to a foreign land and make me feel at home there.

My favorite movie is ‘The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty’, in large part because of the way the music makes me feel involved.

Maybe that is another blog post for you?

    Thanks for your blog!

    1. You have an amazing taste in music! I’m going to go on a listening spree today. Thank you.

I’m not much for movies generally. It’s not that I don’t like them, but sitting still for the time to watch isn’t… I think it’s my executive dysfunction. I didn’t know there was a word for it until recently.
Once I start a movie or someone starts it for me, I get caught and waste the time, but I struggle to sit down and start it.
So there are lots of movies I haven’t watch even though people suggest I’d like them.

I’m glad you liked the post!
