(If you write, you’re a writer. Even if you spend days not writing. It’s not a title that goes away.)
I Did Not Write Today
I did not write today
the day’s been hectic
people’ve been problematic
my head’s still spinning
I did not write today
the muse didn’t visit
the block seems typical
all the tasks were important
I did not write today
food came first
health came first
family came first
I did not write today
or I didn’t before this poem
it may be seen as shocking
but it seems I wrote today
I think I’ll write some more

Yes I have posted this poem before. I want to post this poem yearly. It’s a reminder to myself and others. All writers can get into this funk of not writing. Then a few words down and the facet flows.
