(I’m posting too much today… One more. I’ll set up the other poem for tomorrow morning. The bonus language here is 한국. How skilled do I feel with Korean? Um… Uh… Let’s test it! I’ve written several poems using languages other than English. I’ve even gone bigger with a story in German. There have been a few attempts at poems in Korean or using Korean words. My skill is limited though. Luckily grammar isn’t a big deal in poetry. Simple poems should make sense. Hopefully.)
유리울
opposites attract
유리와 양모
broken and shattered
or rough and tough
유리울
투명한
더운
sewn together
reformed breaks
바라다
freedom
바라다
당신을 위해
나를 위해
유리와 양모
chaos and order
life and death
love and loss
유리울
바라다
나를 바라요…
What the heck did I try to write?
alright, alright… translation time:
유리울 [glass wool]
opposites attract
유리와 양모 [glass and wool]
broken and shattered
or rough and tough
유리울 [glass wool]
투명한 [transparent]
더운 [warm/hot]
sewn together
reformed breaks
바라다 [to wish/to want]
freedom
바라다 [to wish/to want]
당신을 위해 [for you]
나를 위해 [for me]
유리와 양모 [glass and wool]
chaos and order
life and death
love and loss
유리울 [glass wool]
바라다 [to wish/to want]
나를 바라요… [I wish…]
I’m not sure if I want to use 당신을 or 너를…. both can work… I feel as if the second might make things stronger as a poem. Hmm….
I’ll be able to edit this after I gain more knowledge and skill with 한국.
Wish me luck!
